Talking I can see the hype of a canoe. First time paddling a canoe.

I got to borrow @stringtheoryangling 's Canoe for the first time. This is a hybrid canoe so you can paddle it with a double blade Honestly quite different from a kayak but its still very fun. I dont feel super comfortable leaning over but the speed and weight makes up for it.

8 anglers on the water and at black nugget and none of us caught anything.

Once you get used to the "feel", you get more comfortable. I have a 16.5 footer and i can stand in mine as long as there isn't too much chop. Definitely takes some getting used to when standing. I have outriggers on order so once i get them, standing will be easy.

Thanks for posting! Enjoyed it.

Ya caught a snake…..haha

Funny with a canoe they always feel unstable then you get use to their characteristics and you would be surprised what you can do in them.

Roughly the same length as the kayaks pictured beside it on shore, but with less beam, no keel, and no weight to it. Makes sense that its tippy as $^#% but faster than the kayaks.

No matter to me. I'm not going in water over my head in anything with less freeboard than a good erection.

Yea Apparently you can tip this over enough to take on some water and still recover. I didn't have the guts to try it especially late season.

Check out the "Free-style canoeist". He'll show you how stable they are.
