First 6x6 down!!
Just got back from a hunt and had a chance to shoot my first 6x6 elk. Shot it on a pipleline just before dark. A cow and calf came out about 5 minutes before he did. Then I saw some antlers moving in the trees, shortly he then stepped out. I heard a faint bugle behind me, then this guy let out a bugle of his own. Just as he finished......Boom....Boom! I was lucky enough that I could drive a 4x4 up to this pipeline and we had some chainsawing to do, then we winched him out. It was my best hunting day so far. Next animal for me is hopefully a ram or a slob whitetail.

Thanks guys. I am pretty happy with him. I know he'll score less than 300, but I'll tell you for a first 6x6 bull elk, I'm very happy. He tastes great too. Had ribs the other night, a few days later, elk stir fry, my kids were asking for 2nds and 3rds!!
Hi Tyee43... we were camping and hunting out of 356.

Very nice elk Mr Mountainman, did you happen to take your elk on my tree stand. Give me a call, will talk more about your hunt, my hunt... your hunt and where you got this elk. Yes if you havn't guessed we didn't get our elk yet.
