No but throphy pike were doing just fine with walleye in it before so why does everyone hate them putting them back...walleye aren't killing the lake, the lake lots alll around it, improper catch and release by the huge increase of traffic on the lake in the last 8-10 years is the cause of the smaller sizes. Yes there is still a huge number of decent size fish in it but not nearly whqt it was and walleye have had no effect on that.

Be nice Tyler..... trying to bring back lakes to its natural state ain't such a bad thing.... To early to tell if they are doing it right or not, give it time.... You agreed earlier.... Patience. Balance takes time. I started fishing in the 70's, watched the decline....I think finally we are on the road to recovery..(no mater how long it takes and throw in some trial and errors....balance is coming)

C'mon Rav, you know that's a specious comment.

I thought it was a good analogy

I have no personal use for walleye in Wabamun. I will never be able to eat them, I doubt they will ever even be open to tags. They don't help the lake in any significant way and they have in the short term hurt the lake. I honestly wish they would have never restocked the walleye in there just for the sake of stocking walleye. If you are going to stock walleye, you better be opening it for retention too imo. Something the bios have told me directly the will never happen with Wab in the foreseeable future.
