Default QD scope mounts

i will be putting QD mounts on a .338win mag, any ideas on what brand to use and do they come specific to the make and model of the rifle? what about recoil lugs?

You can buy the TPS style mounts that screw off, or some from NECG that turn 90 degrees and come off - I use them on two different rifles and really like them.
The ones with screw leavers are on my custom stalking rifle and are super repeatable as well however, and much less costly.

I have a set of Warne rings on my Brno 602 in 375 H&H. Seem to work very well. Western Gun Parts in Edmonton had them.

Good luck.

Default QD rings

Warne without a doubt. And don't be afraid to use them! Especially when travelling Internationally. I always pack my scopes in my carry-on. Most Outfitters reqiure you to sight-in before a hunt? = 2-3 shots and you'll be back to zero.

I have had luck with Leupold QRW on my .300winmag.

They come in a variety of heights low, med and high. I used them on my leupold and bushnell scopes.

Default qd rings

Just recently I read a post on this topic, it may have been on CGN. In it, the man said he had shot five groups, the first one with the scope mounted and left alone, the second group with the scope dismounted between shots. The third group had the scope left alone, the fourth group had the scope mounted and dismounted and the fifth had the scope left alone. He said the differences between groups was insignificant. The rings were Talleys. I would have no problem buying a set of them.
