Default Kayak Track System Upgrades

Been reading alot of articles online and guys are saying that the plastic (or what ever material they are) track systems on the Old Town kayaks and even some other kayaks, they aren't good and they have lost rods and rod holders due to them not being of good quality. Has anyone ever had this happen to them or heard this same thing? I have never had an issue. If you upgraded the tracks, where did you find the aluminum track rails?
Thank you everyone!

Never had an issue at all to date, fingers crossed but that being said I have all my rides and other gear secured to the yak by lanyards.
When poop happens it happens fast.

I have never had an issue personally but I don’t troll much and I use my rod holder mostly when I am in hooking, switching lures or digging for something in my kayak. I have heard of guys losing rod holders but it’s been in hot weather conditions in warmer climates and big fish.

Yes you could always add rails and I know Hobie sells them. Likely they’re are other aftermarket brands too

Call Aquabatics in Calgary or Edmonton. Also Western Canoe and Kayak online store.

Fun fact with the Hobie rail system on the Outbacks. The Scotty mounting bracket for the lake troller can be turned side ways and mount into both rails. It's a perfect fit and rock solid this way. I went half of the summer with it locked into one rail before I realized it.
