Default Welder Apprentice needs help

Hello,

My son is a 16 year old welding apprentice (RAP Student). He is just about into his second year in his hours. He got laid off from the shop he was working at in Calgary area as they have no work. Does anyone know any Calgary area shops that are looking for apprentices or are hiring labourers for summer employment?

Any info or leads are very much appreciated. He is working hard handing out resumes everyday around town everyday. It never hurts to ask the community.

Thanks!

His rap teacher or cordinator should be able to help.

As an electrical apprentice, my two best jobs came from leads from my SAIT instructor

Maybe yes, maybe no. Not all work experience coordinators are created equal.

If he were my son, I’d have him phone every high school in Calgary and ask the for the email address of their work experience coordinator, both public annd Catholic school boards, and send them emails, telling them where he is at for his hours, and what happened with his shop. Surely one of those will end up in a summer job. I’d bet money on it. Good on your boy!
