Default Skipped work to go fishing

Decided to take advantage of the last day of the season and tried my luck at Pigeon Lake. Saw nothing from sunrise - 9 AM, then between 9:00 - 9:20 landed 3 massive whites, biggest was 7.5lbs. Hole hopped a bit after that and saw 2 more whitefish under the hole but they weren't feeding anymore. Caught and released a small walleye.

Packed up at 11:30AM and went to work.

Cheers

That’s awesome. Good for you. I skipped work too and I’m at Pigeon. Just chasing walleye though.

i did limit out one day could of other days but quit after 4-5 hours just short of limit .
the big ones fight like freight trains and easy to get spooled on the big ones.

I had a good day too. You notice worms in your whites?

Caught several big whites out of pigeon and never have had worms in them other than in there stomach from eating blood worms and shrimp.

Very nice. Those three whitefish would cost you a hundred bucks at Safeway.

Yup. They're always in the float bladder. I've never seen worms in the meat ever.

I only know how to fish for them in very shallow water sight fishing.
I was the only one jumping around in 4 -6 FOW but everyone one was fishing them in the middle of the lake deep. I walked over and check out a few holes and there doesn't seem to any special structure. One guy was fishing in like 25 FOW with a wireworm on a stationary jaw Jacker. He didnt catch any though.
