Sealing a beater Aluminum boat.
I have a what I would describe as a beater 12 footer. Kind of boat that I drag through the bushes to throw in the water. Small and light enough that my wife and I can toss on the truck. Its ugly but very usable, I throw my 9.9 on it.
I haven't used it for a few years, its just sitting in the shed (we have been using our new, bigger boat)
It floats but it does leak a little. I've used it dozens of times and we easily got 2 1/2 - 3 hours on the water with no issues. I trusted it.
Because it has been sitting for a few years, I tempted to try and seal it. Although I don't know why it would leak any worse now that it did then.
Is it as simple as using a gun to apply silicone to along the keel? Is there a better product to use than silicone?
