Keep up the good work Cat. Taking out the trash 1 bag at a time!

Things were a little too lax but nice to see things getting cleaned up and back on track now.

Actually, it was Rman who made that claim. When I called him out repeatedly on that claim, Edmhunter jumped into the Dinty More fan club bandwagon. Fortunately, both have expired.

My infraction came from Don Meredith for 'attacking someone'. That person was that S.A.S. (and various other names) who was one of those white power wannnabes.

I do miss fishnuts9 but that would mean more moderator work. 😉

I'm sure I've deserved a few more times in the corner but leaving for a few years brings a renewed perspective.

Rob's house Rob's rules. I still owe Cat for some shells that I shot into the air and never managed to hit clays up in Fort Mac, and TreeGuy still has my igloo tool. Caber has one of the most well built homes in the city thanks to me 😇 And KenAoVette has a heartburn prescription partly in thanks to me. It's a community for sure. Learned a lot from this site. Especially when getting back into Hunting.

lol Having been a mod for ... oh lets see 15 yrs or more. I don't post that much as I would rather read and post only when I have something of value to add. The last year or so just about every thread I post in just seems to die. lol However Cat is doing and excellent job. Us mods do talk to each other and if one is not sure on how to handle something we talk it out then act. If one of us think something was handled to harshly we talk it out and come to a decision and at times things have been reversed based on our conversation. IMHO those who scream censorship are the ones who like to stand on a soap box just to hear their own voice and they really never contribute much of anything. They do how ever like to create fights based on the fact that they feel they can say and do anything with out respect for others opinions or respect for others in general. If you can't have respect for others how are you ever going to respect our fish and wildlife let alone the environment.

This is a great thread with lots of healthy input from a variety of members and our Mods. I come & go and try to keep my threads/posts informative and positive, negative energy debating nonsense is a waste of time.

Congrat's to our Mod's for their thick skins, discretion and outstanding commitment to keeping this forum a fun place to visit share information and keep current on daily events.

Cheers

D.

P.S. for those frozen chosen on-line, it was 90F or 32C here at the pool this afternoon in SoCal .... don't miss home sweet home just yet.

Nope. Just fatter. 😉

Don't log on as much anymore to keep up with the day to day stuff. I did delete my photobucket account and you'll likely never see a diver 'trip report' anymore but that's because I've reduced my online activities and my close friends know what my wife, Duke and I are up to. I sometimes think about sharing but the forum isn't the community it was four or five years ago. That's not a complaint, just my observation.

As for getting into mischief here. all the guys I used to fight with seemed to have moved along...

BTW that gennie you put me in touch with is still going strong! Thanks!

Get rid of "general discussions". That'll clean up most of it.

And I've found that in Robs' house you're welcome to disagree, as long as you don't resort to threats or name-calling, and you do so in language that you could use in your mother's house, at her table, with her kids & grandkids present. Because we have kids & grandkids present here on this forum. Like most mothers, Rob also seems to have an aversion to endless argument on religion, politics and race based issues, so I'll avoid those topics in his house.

I welcome that opportunity. I love the widely varied topics, the camaraderie, and I appreciate the debate of mature, respectful people.

There's lots of places I can go if I want to vent my spleen, use dirty language, (or play cute and thinly disguise bad language), rant and rave and call those that disagree with me all sorts of vile names ..... just not in Robs house.
From that perspective, it pretty much covers it!

I think that would just push it into the other forums. At least this way you can hang a "viewer discretion is advised" sign on the General Discussion door.

Yup you need general form so we can catch up on the worlds events without the dam clicker in our hands

Or a guy could simply read stuff for themselves in papers and online .
A lot if the junk and garbage I see in general discussion is not worth looking at as far as real news that actually impacts us

This is truth. It gets pretty greasy in the general. I sometimes wonder if a few of the contributors are actually antis. Seems like a lot of the threads are over the top political and maybe they're trying to contribute to the stereotype of dumb hillbilly hunters...

I still see the best solution would be to create a "Politics Only" section.
Actually, most of the political trolling could be dramatically reduced by simply prohibiting the posting of "links".

I think this does happen.
We recently had a thread on the now infamous road rage incident here in Edmonton.
One poster (now banned) went on about how in today's society we don't know what happened in this guys life and we really shouldn't judge him...maybe she'd done something to provoke him.
That was my immediate thought...he purposely posted so that anyone happening on this forum would think...'wow, they really are a bunch of hillbillies who shouldn't be armed'.

That person was an all out troll it had nothing to do with trying to make the membership look bad

yes there is junk in the general discussion forum...but that is much the same for all the other categories here. I enjoy reading in most of the categories, but I get my news from the General Discussion.

I know I know...im different and I like it that way.

I've heard that beeguy is one of the finest fishermen the west has ever seen.

I've been told that if you listen closely on a cool mountain evening you can hear beeguy's voice on breeze yelling, "fish on!, get the net!".

I've heard that beeguy ran off with a sultans daughter.

I know that beeguy was banned for being intolerant of bigotry and racism and for calling out a certain few mods who refused to enforce the rules.

Beeguy likes Bees.

It sounds like beeguy is now posting under Spooner.
