Default HELP. Win Modle 94 part needed.

I have a winchester model 94 (1977 manufacture date). it's a 44 rem mag.

I believe the part that broke is called the load ramp? I went to western gun parts in Edmonton and they said that all.parts for the 94 are discontinued!? wtf! If anyone could help
me find a new one I'd be a very happy camper. It's my brothers gun and during sight know a shell became lodged under the ramp and when I cycled the lever this piece snapped in two.

pictures posted to should what Imakes dealing with.

That seems fishy that wgp dosnt carry 94 parts. Maybe try emailing them. I have found that the only person who seems to give a crap is the one behind the computer. If they dont have it look up numerich gun parts out of the states (yes they ship to canada).

If all else fails, it looks as though the two pieces could be brazed together. I don't think that a loading ramp is subject to much stress, brazing if done properly could work. Tig or Mig welding could be another option

A gunsmith could probably fix it in short order. Check out David Henry in Bentley!!! Dam good smith & gunbuilder.

Default Brownells

Brownells will ship to Canada as well. Try their website.

Looks like part # 22344 Carrier .44 mag (Gun parts corp catalog)

The part you are looking for is called a carrier and it will cost anywhere from $30.00 to $80.00, if you can find it.

You will need more information to get the right one. Some models use a machined carrier, other like yours use a stamped carrier.

I believe the top eject and angle eject models use different carriers and the particular model may also make a difference.

I don't know all the models but I know there are trapper models, commemorative models, saddle models, and many others.
To what degree different models use different carriers I do not know, but I know they are listed on different pages in my Winchester parts catalog.

Good luck with that.

I've have parts on order with them for over three years. To date they tell me they are on back order.

They also tell me that they have an ongoing dispute with Canadian customs and because of that will not ship certain items to Canada, under any circumstance.

I've had good luck with gunpartscorp but they list that part as out of stock.
I've been watching some parts on their site. Parts that I need, and for over two years they've been out of stock.
Parts in stock are delivered in a timely fashion, are reasonably priced and are of good quality in my experience.

That would be my choice,

but I'd do the work myself.
I've done it before on similar parts, with good results.

And I do have a mig.

Brass is far to weak for that application. In use, the area of the break is under considerable torque load which is why some model 94 carriers were reinforced.

You are on your own now. I would have gone with silver solder but you might get away with brass. Parts for the 44mag Winchester are pretty much non existant even south of the line. David.
