Default Three oceans

You can hike up the athabasca glacer in Jasper park,On the right side opposite the headwall you have Mount snow dome,So called because the mountain is covered by a hugh glacier. This mountain is unique world wide because drainage from the mountain goes to three oceans.West the columbia river to the pacific,East the north sask to the atlantic, and north the Athabasca to the Artic ocean.Brewster was called to task at one point, saying this was the only mountain in the world to do so.The russians said they also had one,but in fact one of the rivers went into an inland sea first.

Yes it’s the hyrdographical apex of North America. A nice ski up the glacier... but I haven’t been through the head wall in years

Better ski down, with lots of snow better rope up,Mike wood, a fellow ice field explorer driver, and tail end charle in the group found himself hanging in a crevase when the snow gave way,now that was scary.

I've never skied the headwall un-roped no matter the snow conditions. Some big holes up there
