Default Shedcrazy Jr's first big game hunt!

I have waited a long time for this fall with both my girls turning 12 last month (twins) and had saved up a lot of priority in several draws to make the year more enjoyable. The youth partner addition a few yrs ago is fantastic due to our high priority hunts now.
First up was a Non-typ Pronghorn hunt.
We got down on Monday and even though my daughter has been practicing lots this fall we got setup and fired a bunch of .22 rounds and then she fired her new 6.5x55mm in various prairie shooting positions. We took our time and waited until she was more than ready.
We had a few stalks in the afternoon but several times she just couldn't get a shot she felt comfortable and I kept telling her to only shoot when she was 100%. So no shots fired mainly due to a safety on and I think some hunting nerves.
We set out this morning back into the area and after a few stalks on the same group we blew them out. So we stopped and she had fun with some gophers…well I look up and the herd had come back. So another stalk and a long wait as they slowly came into range to check us out while I called out ranges..300, 240, 200, 175, 125, just shoot.
Two well placed rounds and it was over. One would have been fine but I told her it's better to be safe than sorry.
She was shaking badly when we walked up. So much fun to relive the first big game animal again. To her the lope is an 80"..lol
