Default shotgun scope

looking for a scope to shoot slugs for deer season. need it for a Beretta extrema.

thought about 30mm tube with illuminated bdc reticle. but don't know what power. not going to shoot past 150 yards.

anybody use a burris droptine ? or compare it side by side to a Nikon of similar power ?

Picked up a Nikon Slughunter(?) 2-7x33. It went on my Marlin 45-70. There was a Vortex Diamondback (2-7x) that I was going to put on, but I kind of dug the ballistic reticle that the Nikon had.

They are both decent scopes.

I've never hunted with a slug gun. Is that 150 yard max with a rifled barrel or a smooth bore ???

The only thing I've ever shot with a slug was bears and they were usually under 10-15 feet.

I use an old Bushnell Banner 4X. It has taken a lot of recoil beating from my 870; I use Winchester 3" mag slugs.
It is still true and for $20 it has worked just fine for me.

I use the Nikon slug hunter. Very decent scope. I don't usually like the "busy" reticles but this one isn't too bad and works great.
