Bring it home baby! Not sure if it was the Oil playing great, Vegas playing bad or a combo yet the knights looked like they had zero energy. Not typical for sure. Played em like a fiddle!!: GO OIL!!!

More like a game 3 in the second round of the 2022 playoffs.

I'd say it was more akin to a battle for first place in the Pacific

Wow, what a game!

NUUUUUUUUUUUUGE!!!

Who would of guessed that the second coming would be the last of the 3 to hit the 300 goal milestone.

What a GREAT time to be an Oilers fan!

Great game, all the lines are rolling and contributing, I hope that was Skinnies bad game for a month or so, still have to tighten up in our end but they look ready for a run

No doubt! What a statement game for him, and very well deserved.

What timing for him to pull off a shutout, just awesome

Skinner was solid. Too many shots but with solid goal tending it made for a good win. LA has a lot of fire power.

We all know that just getting to the playoffs is tough, then the real work begins, but I like what I see from the Oil heading down the stretch, still a little sloppy defensively so need to tighten that up a bit, but definitely trending in the right direction.

At least I'll have some playoffs to watch, my grandson's team in the NOJHL is down 3 - 1 in the best of 7, their backs are against the wall, hope they can dig deep and pull it off, we were planning a road trip next week for the 2nd round not looking good

That was the best effort I've seen all year in terms of being physical, winning battles, and owning their ice. They owned the front of their net, and that has NOT been the case on far too many nights. This team is now not only about elite skill, they're big, and they're nasty, and that means LA's game plan is no longer anywhere near as effective.

I hate the LA trap grame, and you can tell the Oilers do too, it's sooo boring and frustrating. They force you to change your game and play their style. Combined with them being the more physical team until now, I think it's why they've been such a tough out for the Oilers and why they were the team from the Pacific that I least wanted the Oilers to face in the playoffs. If the Oilers continue to get the goaltending, stick to the plan, and play the patient physical game they played last night, I have faith that their elite talent will get them past the Kings in a playoff round.

Trap hockey is awful, I completely agree. The Oil basically have to catch LA on a powerplay to get one early or manage to break through like Yamo did last night, and then the game starts to open up—much to the advantage of the Oil.

I really, really hope we can push VGK out of top spot. Let them and LA hack, slash and pick each other for a series while the Oil blast apart the Kraken.

Yep, that's without a doubt the best case scenario.

Now this is enthusiasm! Good job Sundance.
There is indeed an total blend of all that is needed in this team now I believe. Finesse, toughness (with a bit of nasty) resilience, scoring down through the lines and the final piece with Skinner continuing what he showed last night...goaltending.

Having Ekholm on the back end has also made a huge difference and the way he pinches on offense, fantastic!

PS. Nuge has been a monster too! Love that guy for so many reasons

GO OIL!!! She's gonna be lots of fun

Ekholm appears to have improved defensive confidence a notch. Players in turn play better with confidence. I say on a scale of 1-10 with 1 defence is a sieve and 10 an impenetrable wall… start of the season they were a 2. Mid season a 4. Now a 7 approaching an 8. I’d like to see an 8-9 going into the playoffs. Bouchard is playing better offensively which keeps teams on their toes.

Skinner has picked it up a notch. Drai and McD playing their best. Nuge an explosive surprise. Hyman killing it.

I’m very optimistic Alberta will get a cup this year.

Still need some tweaks as the play speed picks up in the playoffs. Oilers have the speed… just need to stop stupid penalties. As do most teams to be fair.

I'm very optimistic that if you cheer for every team sooner or later your team will win the Cup.

1 being worst in the league,
10 best in league,
I’d still give oilers a 5 at very most. Probably less than average.
If the D was a 7 or 8, the oilers would have a much higher win rate with their potent offence.
Right now, with ekholm, a 5.
