Humminbird ICE 55 won’t turn off
Not sure if I’ve seen a thread like this before here but I’ve taken my hummminbird out 3 times so far this year and I will turn the knob to shut it off and it will keep running until I disconnect the battery. Has anyone else had this problem

I asked a friend of mine at Cabelas about your problem. He said to take it in for servicing. What your experiencing is not normal.

I appreciate you doing that for me, thank you. I can't imagine shipping will be cheap, or that I'll get it back before the season is pretty much over. Disappointed that it would come out of the box with a problem like that

I bough an ICE-45 a couple months ago that wouldn't even turn ON out of the box . Not annoying at all...

If you just bought it take it back to the store and have them swap it out.

I would probably keep using it as is then send it to Mikes Reel Repair in Abbottsford at the end of the season.
You could contact him and see if he can send you the part he thinks it would be(my guess is just the switch). I broke my gain knob off my Ice 55 and was able to get one from him and just fixed it myself. Yours is a warranty problem though and doing it yourself almost certainly voids your warranty.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll make a note of that place. Seems like those gain knobs pop off pretty easy from chatter around the internet, too bad they don't hold up well

They stick out slightly so can be broken off if abused. Mine broke from being bounced around in a sled for 150+ kms. I also broke my auger, heater and a number of other items on that trip... Lesson learned was on extremely long distance trips you need to put a lot more effort into properly securing things.

Yikes- what a trip. I've carried this unit in a small backpack for the most part, wish they would make them a little more robust so you wouldn't have to worry
