Default Fishing Varadero Cuba

Heading to Cuba in a couple of weeks for the 4th thime and never fished, this is the year.
Anyone have any advise on charters?

Good / Bad / Ugly

You can do a day trip with Alfredo for tarpon. It is about a 1.5 hour drive to the river. He arranges transportation and the boat and guides you. He is very good and has great english speaking skills.

You need either a 10 or 11 weight fly line...full sink. I can show you the flies you need. Essentially some black deaths work fine.

Otherwise a heavy action spinning rod with 60-80 lb test. Surface poppers or some slow moving spinners or jigs could work.

not sure if you can do trips up in northern cuba for these.
