Yep, that is why. They picked Feb 1st as some years it is earlier than others. FYI, I predicted early this year and I'll bet that is bang on. Very similar conditions to last year.

Lol why would somebody poach a burbot pretty sure it's the same fine as a walleye. Burbot c&r is not very thrilling compared to pike or walleye in my opinion.

Depends on the lake from what I have read. Chip lake doesn't have anything listed saying you can't keep Burbot right now.

Thanks again to Sushi Man my dad and I will be out all weekend on Lac La Biche fishn all night(ish) hope to land some monsters any one want to pm me any tips as its our first over nighter

I Brought lots nescafe instant coffee and a bottle of baileys! We also Brought a mini portable BBQ and a 19 litre bottle of fresh clean water to clean dishes, boil water, make food ect.


get some bells lol cuz they come and hit the baits when you're sleeping, gets me jumping out of the bunk bed, might be nice to bring some flip flops to wear in the shacks, its annoying to hop out of the bunk bed in bare feet walking on wet areas from the fish or winter boots.

You should be able to catch pike and walleye and maybe some burbot in that area, the shacks right over a drop off.
