what camera do you use? Hopefully your buddy was bowfishing for suckers, since its illegal to bowfish for pike. Plan on shooting some suckers myself this summer.

Was watching one from his channel, pained me to see the brown getting dragged out of the water and over the ice. Treble hooks? Were they barbed cause they shouldn't be that hard to get out.
Big bull trout from K lakes? Again, was that a barbed treble?

He never said he was shooting at a pike with the bow, could have been after suckers(probably) and how do you know he snagged the pike intentionally, it happens a lot.
What was your problem with the bully threw the ice?? He never touched it, left it in the wate and poped out the hook. Swam away no harm done...
Sounds like somebody has a personal jelouse issue.....

I watched that video, not sure which one you watched but in it the fish is out of the water for about 3 minutes. Fish cannot be taken out of the water that long. I'm not jealous about anything, I have fished that lake before and caught those fish and I would like to know that people are taking just as good care of them as I am when icefishing.

We are our own worst enemy on this site, when we assume what some one else is doing. He very well could have been, but we have no idea. I saw a pike that was snagged by a rap, and a **** poor attempt at weighing him but nothing illegal. If I see someone post illegal activity I will be the first to save it and submit it to report a poacher, but i have to give the benifit of doubt....

The proof is there , they guy with a Bow shooting into the water with a Pike on , HUMMMMMM I think Fish and wildlife would love to see this video . Perhaps the Bull trout one aswell . IF these guys cannot and do not want to play by the rules as 99.9 % of everyone does well you dont deserve to play . And if you disagree with that , thats to bad .

I see what your saying now, you think he was shooting at the pike AFTER the other guy had it on the line?? That thought never really occured to me, but he very well could have been.
Altho they did look like they were trying to keep it in the water, even with their crappy weighing attempt, and then release it. If they were trying to shoot it with the arrow I would think that they would have kept it for the freezer....
Just not too sure.
And I haven't seen the bull trout video in question.

the camera is a gopro hero 2. and yes my buddy was bowfishing for suckers, he got one and bbq it when he got home, said it was pretty good! Where abouts do you get your suckers?

no sir its not barbed, all of my tackle is debarbed as soon as it gets out of the package. and as for the brown it was a fight because it swam down river below the shelf so i followed it, unfortunate it was on the shelf i got him out.

as i said, my friend only goes for suckers, its illegal for anything else. and snagging that pike was an accident as my friend wouldnt intentionally snag a fish.

have a spot on the Bow with a sandbar sticking out a ways, the suckers hang around on the shore side, hooked the smallest one I saw last year, it was 8 pounds, no idea what the biggest in the school weighed, but it was a lot bigger than 8 pounds,

thank you diamonddave! yes my weight scale is old and i need a new one and a few sad attempts to weigh it. as for the snagging the pike blend in so well because they dont move you often dont know they are there. pike and suckers live in the same waters, bigbadjohn, so theres no reason to get upset when someone goes for suckers. i dont understand what everyones problem is because nothing was wrongly done here, catch the fish, take pictures, release to catch another day!

holy that is still a awesome catch tho! ive never seen a sucker in the bow, youve gotta love when you see such large fish schools around, really cool to look at, especially for me that would be a first time seeing that on the bow!
