Default Little wolf story

I thought this was too funny not to share. We all trap wolves for different reasons. Mine is for the fun of it but most importantly it is to help out the ungulates in my area that have been almost wiped out it seems.
Well today I had a good laugh. I was walking into one of my wolf baits and I had a moose running circles in the area and going nuts. I thought oh no I caught a calf and the mother is going nuts.
Well as I followed the tracks I noticed another set and it was a wolf. The wolf was chasing this moose right through my bait pile and snare zone.
I was like wow this is wild and I expected to find this moose tangle up.
Well it ended up that she bolted through 2 of my snares. I then came to a spot where she went crashing through the bush right next to one of my snares. The wolf took the trail and I think he died right when he hit the end of the cable as there was no fight around there and the trees were not marked at all lol
Had the Seneker magnum springs on it that may have helped in that as well lol
So the moose was playing Frogger with the snare site and crossed the road to freedom while mister Wolf got a smackdown lol

Thought it was too funny not to share guys

Thanks for the story nube. That moose probably didn't look back for a mile at least. No other wolf tracks around?

Surprisingly no other tracks. Makes you wonder why a single wolf would do that!

Thanx for the post nube , the night we had our big catch at that one bait site , it was full of deer tracks .Brush patches are limited in my area and maybe the coyotes were chasing deer thru it and ended up caught . I also like the magnum springs even tho they are a little harder to hide .

Too cool.
That's a win win situation for you and the moose.

Got a mix of 5/64 and 3/32. In the future I think I will stick with 3/32. I got the magnum springs with trigger as well. They have worked well and havn't lost one this year. This last one seriously didn't move after it hit the end of the cable lol

We sure get to have all the fun with the wildlife, don't we? Got to kind of feel sorry for our enemies who never get out and experience nature in its truest form... being a part of it!

Awesome eh? We are in the end zone on this humane snaring game, and I am most pleased with these Magnums... everything is getting downright flattened. It's even a very different game than where we were at even 5 years ago. And our buddies are arguing against us based on very old, obsolete information.

Default wolf

That is awesome, and another of the many reasons why we trap, to see so many things that you would not see sitting at home watching tv.

Thanks for sharing Nube! Cool story, I wonder how often this happens? Good to know that you have the ungulates helping you reduce the preds!

Keep hammering those wolves!
