Default Wild Turkey sighting.

I saw this earlier today and thought I would share. It would be nice to see. I'm sure it must be a escapee or someone released the bird. What are the odds of it staying alive for long? I wonder if there were a few released with some kind of intention, or if the turkeys are maybe even being introduced.

By Athabasca today this woman captured a pic of this Merriam's wild turkey that had 11 chicks.

Ah. Wrong thing, I was expecting something else when I opened this thread. Was going to say I saw some Wild Turkey on the shelves at the Beer Locker in Drayton today......

Some people have been releasing them for years in that area.

That’s a cool sighting. It would be nice to see these birds expand throughout Alberta. I’d imagine wintering in the porcupine hills is much different than in the Boreal.
