Default My first Laker

Had a buddy invite me along to Cold Lake to fish for some Lake Trout on Thursday and I gladly took him up on it as I have never caught one before. After drilling a few holes and moving a couple times with not much action. I happen to look down the hole and see a few passing through at about 15' which took me by surprise as we had been fishing the bottom in 40'-120' of water. I quickly pulled my line up an caught this guy. My first Laker 30" - 11 1/2 lbs. What a blast.

Some Trout from last weekend as well.

Nice work! Looks like all your keepers are really lightly coloured. Did you land any of the really dark Lakers that are in there?

Them "lakers" in your second picture sure look strange. Deeply forked tails seem to be missing.

You are correct. I read a post entitled "Lakers" and made some assumptions and quickly saw the second photo has no Lakers in it that I would recognize as "lakers".

Bottom fish just a rainbow.

Hard to tell from picture.

Nice fish ........ I'd eat them ............
