Default Bison hunt near wood buffalo park, not zama

Hi guys
Is anyone ever hunted bison around the wood buffalo park?
I hunted zama last year and had good time. I would like to find more info about hunting bison around the park. I know it will be extremely hard and a waist of time, but That is fine by me.
Thx
Frank

They were accessible, I believe as of last year they are no longer huntable by most of us.

I don't know if things changed, but Boss outfitting used to offer bison hunts up there.

Awesome!

What do you mean about the no longer huntable comment?

I think this loophole has been closed a year or two ago. Need to search current regs.

Default Ronald Lake Herd

yes, as of last March, the Ronald Lake Bison Herd (south of Wood Buffalo park, west of the Athabasca river) is now protected from hunting by non-aboriginal hunters within a specified boundary. Here is a link to the letter provided to AHIEA by AEP:

https://protrain.hs.llnwd.net/e1/sit...ept%202016.pdf

And for those interested, here is the amendment to the Wildlife Regulations concerning the herd (page 40 of the document):
