big buck!
Just got a call from a buddy who is heading south.
The first field on the west side past the gas stations at Wandering River has a 180 class buck chasing a doe about fifty yards off the highway- EIGHT trucks there parked watching it, everybody on cells trying to either figure out who owns the land or trying to get permission!!
I asked him if he stopped and got a pic and he said he was laughing too hard and forgot!

A similar situation happened in my home town as a kid was quite comical! It is like people waiting for the pheasant release truck

That's about what, 2hrs from Edmonton? If I load up right after lunch...
From what I here that buck has been there for a couple weeks now, a friend of mine told me about him first week of season.

With all of the stories we've been hearing, it's nice to hear this one. At least there's a lineup of trucks trying to get permission rather than hearing about it being taken away in the back of a big white truck with red and blues.
I'd love to hear how this one ends up...

He has been around for a while, has a sticker and a drop tine.

Every now and then it's good when the deer wins. Most people have never laid eyes on a buck that size let alone shot one. They're privileged just to see him.

Or hit by a vehicle ,or maybe even legally shot!
Or he may disappear for a while only to reappear again .

Luv it, when I was in Saskatchewan I was travelling down on old sand road/trail and came across a convoy of good ol'boys all pulled over to the side, some in thier trucks, some out looking not 50 yards in a field where a doe was bedded down and behind here was a huge legit B&C buck...irony was that this land was posted, no hunting, no shooting, no tresspassing...don't even breath on this land but the land owner forgot to post it no gocking...came by an hour later and even the game warden was there eyeballing this beauty...talk of the land for the season at the coffee shops!
I had permission on the quarter beside this quarter and I tell ya I sat on stand...hoping, dreaming...
