Default Can I take deer hide to England?

I shot the mule deer in Alberta and then took it to a business and they ran/process the hide. The skin look like leather and it has all the hair on it right now.

My question is can I take this hide to England by air!

Thanks

I would assume yes because both raw and tanned hides are shipped back to international hunters home countries all the time

I bet if you ask customs in England they would be able to tell you everything required

Check the CITES site to see if your deer hide applies:

https://travel.gc.ca/travelling/documents/cites-permits

Quote:
Do I need a CITES permit?
The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) Permitting Management Authorities are located in a number of provinces and territories and are responsible for issuing CITES permits and monitoring wildlife species that are exported from their jurisdictions.

If you are importing or exporting a CITES-listed species, its parts or derivatives for either personal or commercial use, you may need a CITES permit.

Schedule I of the Wild Animal and Plant Trade Regulations (WAPTR) is the list of CITES species that are regulated in Canada. Consult the CITES checklist.

Species are listed in CITES in one of three "appendices", depending on their conservation status. Each appendix provides a different level of protection through varying permits requirements.

Just an update

The hide is in England now!!!

The Canadian customs didn't check the luggage and neither in England. No questions were asked in either customs.

The printed receipt from the business was with the hide and receipt showed that it was processed at their plant.

Thanks
