Ice is fine. No rotting of any kind and actually still snow on the lake. Pretty sloppy in around PP but once your out a bit its fine. English bay from what I understand is pretty much in accessible this year. A couple big heaves out that what I hear.

Default Cold Lake

Just came off the ice. PP launch is a little wet but not to bad. The fish seem to be getting a little more active.

Just got off the lake at English bay fishing was ok 9 guys caught 20 fish 2 keepers. The ice heave has melted really bad coming off was quite scary 3 trucks last one almost didn't make it across. Won't be going back on there this year. Going to fish marina in the morning.

Two of us fished all day and had 4 hits in total and landed 2, both small. Access at PP was not an issue.

Finished a 4 day trip yesturday. I think me and my buddy caught a total of 24 fish. The biggest around 10 lbs, so not a really successful trip but still fun. I'm pretty new to fishin lake trout and to Cold lake but I sure enjoy it. We used both the marina and the PP access and the PP was in a lot better shape.

Sunday was a bit better for us. We landed 5 fish in 6 hours with one being 73 centimetres long. It was by far the worst laker fishing that the two of us have had ( we only go once a year and are far from experts ) but had awesome weather.

Default Hmmmm

Went out to French Bay for a little fishing yesterday, 3 hours and not even a nibble, others were not catching either around us indicated by the constant movement and drilling of holes. Ice is say two feet thick and no issues getting around.
Now I will ask all of you anglers to take out what you bring to the ice, I brought back McDonald wrappers etc...pigs, there were cig butts, etc I sat there and looked around at the scenery, big lake, nice ski chalet and asked myself why?
I told my son always leave an area better than you found it and ask you to.

Hey 58thecat ,was there a lot of flood water on top.Heading out saturday for last time. Did notice last weekend Lakers did not like the jumbo jig tubes. The smaller Cold lake specials in white did the trick, unfortunately the new CLS. are barbless except the stinker hook did have barbs...Bite was very light ,they would suck the hook in and not shut their mouths. Have to really set the hook when it feels like a nibble.
