Given how the world has changed since that started, i would think the Union would get back to work while CO-OP still wants em

With who the Union leader is, I hope CO-OP just replaces them!

They are not on strike, they have been locked out.

With an all time high in fuel (and refinery inventory), record low oil prices and the economic situation during this Covid crisis you would have though the union would have encouraged their members to sign up and keep their jobs.

The unions actions here are gross negligence in my opinion.

Happy to see them gone! Coop will be far better off.
Guess there's always the option of saying adios to the union and reapplying

As I read the news post, the vote was wether or not if they should accept the company offer.

I don't think the vote was if they were going to keep the union or not.

Unifor has a posting out now congratulating the Liberal government on their firearms ban. This union wants to see a total ban on all firearms.

The way Unifor has been dealing with contracts lately I'm not surprised they would like to see all guns banned. It's not exactly prime time to be playing hardball with employers while demanding outrageous concessions. It's time for unions to go the way of the dinosaurs while we still have some semblance of an economy to resurrect

I would not say that unions need to go, however I feel unions have to understand, that for them to maintain continued employment, the company they work for needs to make money. If unions worked WITH employers I think they would be further along. Unions like the whole us vs them, instead of us working with them to a common goal.

Dias is a Trudeau puppet. He will support anything that Trudeau wants.

But they were locked out because they gave strike notice, after a strike notice is received it is very common for companies to lock out the union employees to avoid any potential sabotage by the employees.

The Union is now threatening to block farmers from accessing cardlock fuel stations. This will go over like a skunk at a wedding.

Fine every individual involved $10,000 and give them 30 days for a first offence. Fine the union an additional $100,000 ,for every vehicle that they impede.

Block the farmers? Lots of the farmers I know would drive over them, get their fuel, and drive away like nothing happened.

I know a few that wouldn't hesitate!

A friend of mine's son hauls fuel primarily East of Hwy 2. He said the Hutterites were filling every tank (even old ones they haven't used for some time) they can with diesel. Something in the wind.
