It looks like the Libs may have something planned out already, how long it will take to get done, remains to be seen;

Default Wow

That is absolutely ridiculous! Maybe the Toronto Medical Officer should keep his/her nose out of fascistic, leftist nation interests and focus on finding ways to comply with the Ontario Health Care Act and better ways to enhance patient treatment. They're clearly driving out of their lane here and this should be stopped.

Maybe I should formally recommend what kind of light bulbs the city of Toronto should use on their street lamps or what kind of paint their public works department should use to paint their sidewalks with...

Just one more reason that I can't stand the Leafs.

It was a lost cause, and they knew it, but, they tried it anyway. Apparently NZ has only surrendered 18% of the guns that are known about, so far, but, this, this is priceless;

This is gold:

"Police did not expect patched gang members to front up to collections but were hopeful they would listen and do the right thing, Clement said."

And as expected, Toronto Board of Health and the City want to push for the cities to be able to ban handguns. There was apparently one of the City councilors who put out a media invitation to hear and meet anti-gun advocates, at her office, but would not and did not mention the victims groups in Toronto who say the handgun and assault rifle palaver the antigunners are pushing is BS. The Victims groups were also at whatever meetings were held today. And they came up with an agreement to push for bans with the Gov't. Montreal is apparently pushing it along with Toronto, and the Premier of Manitoba is willing to consider looking at city handgun bans.

Gee, I don't know, which one would be more of a priority to our new public safety minister, the former minister of nothing, the Huawei 5g issue, which takes parliamentary approvals, or the firearms Orders in Council he needs to do to implement his bans on assault guns.

From the Gun Blog, a reminder that the RCMP did promise to make FRT's public, they'll probably have to lay off the secretary they have working on it with the cutbacks;

I noticed that the media is starting to ramp up "gun ban" stories again today, with the 30th anniversary of Polytechnique coming up.

Yup, Heidi and Wendy are on a roll the last few days around Toronto, they appeared at Toronto City Council to plead for a handgun and assault rifle ban, Toronto City Council aims to please them by pleading with the Libs for a ban. And any pro-gun presenters were given short shrift of course. And don't forget Montreal agrees with them. One example of the media's bias;

So, apparently we are not rid of Kent Hehr here in Calgary, it turns out he and Councilor George Chahal want to have Calgary back Toronto & Montreal with a handgun ban of our own.

Calgary is going broke, the police have to cut their budget, it makes a person wonder how Hehr and Chahal plan to pay for this.

That was pre-election posturing.

Calgary voters responded to Kent Hehr, I hope they respond similarly to Chahal.

Thanks for the link. I think we all need to be contacting Jason Kenney and telling him how we feel about any kind of gun ban.

Jason Kenney is a shooter, he was at Silver Willow a week or two ago, so he does support gun owners, how far, don't know. How much say the provinces have if the Libs do manage to pass laws superceding provincial laws regarding bans in cities, don't know. I expect he could withdraw provincial funding for whatever things he wants to, should the worst come to pass. Will the province have a leg to stand on to go to federal court over it? How hard would they really push it?
I think what they did today is predominantly lip service;

Not sure how many may have looked at a post about the Verney-Carron Speedline rifle and the Veloce shotgun, they were designed to get around pump and autoloader bans, they are known as a linear action, the Northern Territories in Australia just put in a very quiet backdoor ban on that type of action.

Go to about the 6min mark in this vid and they are shooting it;

CSSA has been posting the people on this list as single posts and asking why the Doctor's group and Poly and others have not been after the gov't to track people with firearms prohibitions. The Toronto police chief talked about the revolving door in the courts and relating to this exact issue, it was brought up in the C71 hearings as well.

https://myemail.constantcontact.com/...id=tR55JIiRWJg

And the OFAH published their thoughts on the current goings on;

WE all knew this was going to get ugly sooner than later, here is the first round, media across the country are running with the Poly tragedy and supporting the Poly group. And Heidi is making hay from it. Even Jason Kenney did the PC thing and said what a tragedy it was, without the gun rhetoric. Can't stop people like Lepine/Garbhi from finding a way to do this stuff, so ban guns. And Trudope's throne speech was definitely meant to encourage them. And the Libs are using for all the leverage they can get.

Blair is going to use OIC's to ban guns, that was the whole purpose of C71, to get the ability to do it in place.
