Default Emerson lake and Rock island lake fishing ?

Worked a ship ton last 36 days ..... gotta get my boys out for some camping and fishing here shortly before the rest of summer floats away on me

Was gonna camp and stay at Prov parks etc etc

Wondering if the fishing is descent at Emerson lake near Edson and Rock island lake ( I think ) off of highway 40 north of Hinton.

Thanks in advance

Rock lake can be tough to catch the lakers. Last time there there was a mama grizz and family around so the warden was letting the campers know. Never did see her. Not sure about Emerson.

I always hear good things about the lakes around William A Switzer park up that way. Gregg, Cache , Jarvis all have some decent fish.

Peppers lake is in the area as well and the Brookies are usually cooperative there.

hope this helps.

Don’t bother with Emerson pretty small fish and a lot escape out of lake to the creek to the athabasca river

If you're looking at the Hinton area. Up by Grande Cache there are lots of options to do some good fishing on rivers for native Bull Trout. A few campgrounds in the area I believe but its not great for accommodations
