Default Edmonton Area Golf Courses

Hey everyone .. 4 of us are coming up from northern alberta and hoping to get 18holes in on Friday. Any suggestions of some good courses in the Edmonton area ... currently looking at Northern Bear and RedTail. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

River Ridge, Cougar Creek, The Ranch, Twin Willows.

Good luck getting a tee time! Weather looks great!

Trestle creek out by wabamun is really good, so is coal creek out by tofield. Highly recommend both of these courses.

Played Coal Creek last summer and really enjoyed it.
Eagle Rock at Beaumont is a nice run.

Between those two I'd suggest Northern Bear - far more variety of holes. Red Tail is a good course but is links style and this early in the season won't be anywhere near its best - even relative to the Bear.

If you've got time for a second round, try Cardiff Golf and Country Club near Morinville.

When I lived in EDM, I was a member at both Coloniale and Red Tail, they both struggle every spring with patchy greens, looks like N. Bear has similar issues this year, I would definitely call the ProShop and get first hand info before I book any course.

Edit ... the greens out here at the Sylvan G&CC are also patchy with some winter kill, it will take some time for them to recover, I imagine most courses are similar.

Safe travels & enjoy.

Played the Bear yesterday; greens took a huge hit, they are the worst I've seen them. No grass and/or super patchy. Not sure how long it's going to take them to grow in. Very unfortunate.

Call the Edmonton Oilers office. They can tell you which are the good golf courses in the area...

Sturgeon in St Albert is a great course and if you want to venture an Hour or so north you should play Barrhead. One of the best in Alberta
