150 LRAB in a 270?
Anyone loading these, and what are you charging them up with?
I acquired a Ruger no. 1 and I think these will be my bullet of choice.

I use them in my 280 and have had excellent accuracy as well as performance so I'm hoping to see the same out of the 270.

I have often read that the lrab is more frangible than a regular Accubond, and can be finicky to load for.

Are you gonna freefloat your no. 1? How does it shoot so far?

I found the exact opposite on both accounts.

Haven't shot it yet, just cleaned it out so far.

I have found the ABLR to be much more forgiving than Berger bullets.

Berger are dead easy to load for if you know what you are doing

In all seriousness, if one follows their instructions in terms of 10, 50, 90, and 130 thousands jump then it is dead easy to see the jump they like.

I use them in one of my 270s. Use Noslers max with H4831sc. Get great accuracy and the one whitetail ive used them on showed good terminal ballistics similar to sierra gamekings on deer but a smaller exit hole.

Perhaps, but with most other bullets, I dom't have to bother with that nonsense, because they aren't so fussy about the jump to the lands. With Accubonds, and ABLR, or with Sierra bullets, I can usually be well under moa without having to experiment with the jump, and a change in COL makes far less difference than with the Bergers. I usually start Noslers or Sierras .010" off of the lands and I rarely change the COL more than .005" to fine tune the load. And if the magazine won't allow me to load near the lands, I usually load as long as the magazine allows, and they shoot quite well, whereas I have had to do much more work to get the Bergers to shoot well, and sometimes I just gave up because between the magazine limitations, and the amount of bullet shank in the case, I couldn't get Bergers to shoot well in some rifles.

No argument here with any of what u say, but in two trips to the range with a rifle that doesn't have a detachable mag, I have always, always been able to find a crazy accurate load. They are not my first choice though. For me, the plain old Accubond is just a great all round bullet.

Im really impressed with the regular Accubonds. Im curious about the LRAB as well. Anyone seen a LRAB blow up and go to hell?

I have absolutely no first hand experience, though as has been alluded to, they are designed to expand reliably at lower terminal velocities due to the potential of being shot at long ranges. Thus, the reports of them being more frangible would seem to make sense, and that they are performing as they are designed. As I often say, this is all minutiae anyhow. Nothing can live with a hole in its lungs.

I was going to load them in a Tikka .270 but got looking and it didn't seem they would stabilize at -20 degrees. So passed and used regular Accubonds

I use the 150gr LRAB exclusively in my Nosler M48 .270wsm. Under 1/2 moa when pushed with 62gr of H4831sc. That load has dropped elk moose and deer in their tracks.Wouldn’t use anything else.
