Who has toyed with this round and I am sure there are many. What powders and bullets worked best.

I do. I use H4350 with Hornady 140gr ELD-M with Lapua Brass. In my rifle, it’s a unreal combo.

small vs large
Do you notice any differences switching from large to small primer pocket brass from Lapua?
Accuracy?
Velocity?
Extreme Spread /SD?

I did some pressure testing when i got the Lapua brass. I went all the way up to 43.5 gr (Careful). Had very small pressure even at that load. I had the best SD and groups at 42.2 My SD is 4. Im running a Defiance action and Bartlien barrel. Top tier products that can handle some high pressure. The 6.5 guys on youtube did a stress test one piece of Lapua brass. They loaded it hot and shot it then FL sized it then did it again, 20 times. Brass held up perfectly. The small primers help to load the round a little hotter and keeps the brass strong.

Your load sounds ok to me. I run 42.2 H4350 with a 130 Berger out of my 6.5x47. Lapua brass I great stuff. Seeing some impressive numbers out of Creeds using R26. Tried it in my x47 with a 147 ELD-M. Didn’t work as I couldn’t get enough powder into the case to produce enough velocity.

The 260,Creed and 6.5x47 all run close to each other. With the x47 having the least case capacity. My custom RBROS x47 runs pretty good. Drives a 130 Berger just under 3000 fps out of a 26” Broughton.

I load 130gr Bergers, 40.5 gr of W760 and CCI 200 LR primers. Hornady brass, not by choice but necessity. 2741 fps MV.

I run IMR4350 and IMR4831 with 140 grain bullets in my 6.5 Swede. The two calibers are so close I suspect that these powders would serve you well.

My favorite load:
Hornady brass
143 ELD-X bullets
Federal 210M primers
43.9 grains Superformance powder
COAL 2.80"
I use a Lee Factory Crimp Die, and place a light crimp
My average velocity is 2739 fps
Out of my M54 Cooper Excalibur, I get 1/2 MOA or better.
LOVE the Creedmoor - I definitely understand why it's so popular

I'm having excellent accuracy out of a 24" barrel and 140eldm at about the 2650fps node with either H4350 or imr4451 .

3000fps seems pretty fast for the x47, where many others get mid to high 2700's with the CM (130-140 grain). You must reload fairly hot.
I'd like to rebarrel to 6.5CM eventually and get close to your velocities.

I have absolutely no pressure signs with this load. It’s a full custom built by Travis at RBROS in Washington. He developed the load for me and assured me it’s not at max in my gun. I totally trust him. It shoots so good I haven’t tried anything else. I built another x47 this spring. Light weight carry rifle shooting 130 accubonds. With more bearing surface than the Berger, I shoot these at 2850 fps. No pressure signs with this load either. The x47 impresses me every time I take it out. Also I’m shooting a 26” barrel with a Defiance action. Plus I think there’s something to be said for the reamer RBROS uses.

6.5x47 Lapua
I am gettuing similar results with mine Bee. I shoot 123gr Scenars around 3000fps with light loads and over that with hot loads. 30 inch Kreiger barrel though.
I am thinking of building a Creedmoor so this thread is interesting to me. I have heard that the Creed shoots the heavier bullets better than the X47. I plan on keep the X47 and shooting light and have the Creed to shoot heavy. Now that they have Lapua brass I am even more interesting as a project. Not sure that is the wisest idea but hey its only money.

Markg I would try some 140 class in your gun to see what they do. I tried a experiment in my X47 with the 147 ELD-M and R26. No Go! Can't get enough powder in the case to get any velocity. This is where the extra 4-5 gr more capacity in the CREED would be helpful. I plan to retry the 147's this winter with Varget and H4350. Do any of the Creedmoor shooters use the 147? If so what powder is used and also MV? Even at low velocity the 147's shot awesome.

6.5 cm
I also used H4350 (41.5-42.0grs) and hornady brass and 143 eld-x w/coal of 2.800" and got bug hole groups from a Ruger Predator, then tried same bullets w/imr 4451 and same results, if not better. Sorry did't chrony these loads. But darn they are accurate. !! Great round to load. good luck

I use 40 grs of IMR4350,139 Lapua Scenars,Hornady Brass,COL 2.800 in a Browning X-bolt target with a 28" barrel.They are 2670 fps.
I have used H4350,H380 and Hybrid 100 in it also with good luck.I use the IMR4350 because I have lots of it and it makes 1 hole at 100 yards,I am going to try the ELD-X in it someday and will probably use H4350 to start with.

21" barrel, 147 ELD, 42.5 H4350, 44 IMR4451, 47.5 R26 all hit a node at just over 2650-2700 fps.

Creed
Good to hear everyone's input.
After reading lots and in particular the experiemnt one guy did with chopping his barrel on the Creed, I have come to teh conclusion that a 21"-22" short and fat barrel is the way to go, to shoot the 140's with very little loss in velocity. See attached.

Ruger M77 Target/Varmint
Hornady Brass
H4350
GM 210M primers
143 grain ELD-X
2698 fps
Seated at 15 thou off the lands I just shot a .21 MOA group at 300 yards 2 weeks ago. These loads were also ringing the MOA gong at 400M that day. I was not able to read the wind properly with the last 4 rounds that I had and missed the MOA gong at 500M.
Looking into seating them at 2 thou from the lands the same day and developing the load at 200 yards produced a .53 MOA group and a .2 MOA group.

Might have to look at the low 140gr bullets. Nosler has a 142gr accubond long range with a G1 BC of .719 that would be perfect for 1000m Shots.
I have to agree that the this is were the Creed has the advantage over X47

I can't say for sure, but the BC on that Nosler is probably inflated. I would try 140 Berger Hybrid or a 140 ELD-M. Either should work out of your 30" barrel.

Assuming you want a round capable at range and yet usable for big game I use:
Lapua small rifle primer brass
CCI no 400 small rifle primers
37.5 grains varget
143gr ELD-x bullets
Very happy with performance
