Being a former Edmontonion now living in Cochrane I would suggest a Belly boat for good fly fishing near Edmonton.

Question Winter KIll

Winter Kill has not being confirmed at few trout ponds west of edmonton.
Too soon to make that assumption.

I avoid the west side like the plague lol. I'm a country boy, traffic and loud noises scare me. I'm afraid I've never wet a line in Edm even. Sounds like the west side lakes have taken a beating from a long winter. Might be more NSR pressure this year than norm if all the winter kill reports are true.
you got it boys. don't be scared to venture into town. there's access everywhere and the fishing can be incredible.

There is the water ski park and then the ski club which has a gate on it.

i made some friends with the people that owned the water ski pond. i was permitted to drive around the pond and park right along the river. Is the bottled water place still south of there? Its not a long walk from there down to the river. that whole section is worth a walk.

I would like to get into the sucker run with my fly rod, how far up the whitemud and blackmud do they get? What flies are you using? When does the run start? Sorry that's alot of questions, I tried this evening at the ski hill and fox drive with no success and lost a few flies. Thanks
