Default dragonfly

anybody try these rods before? apparently they are made in the same factory as Hardy and are made by the company that make trophy xl salmon/steelhead rods. I know tfo is a good starter rod quality wise but any info on dragonfly would be appreciated. thank you.

I have no experience with dragonfly rods but my second rod was an echo carbon and it's still my go to rod

I've been reading this forum but don't post a lot. Thought I'd pipe in.

My first "decent" fly rod was a Dragonfly 7 wt. It was a good rod for the money. Medium fast action if I recall. I sold it because I didn't have much use for a 7 wt. I see Canadian Tire sells them now. I think I would buy again in a 5 wt. if the need ever arose.

Default Pretty good

I have a 6wt and find them to be good. For their price you can't go wrong. Is it true that CT is carrying them? If so I may require trip to get me a 4wt.

I have an older 5-6 wt Dragonfly Kamloops reel I got from a garage sale a long time ago and it is a surprisingly high quality unit. I use it quite a bit.

Just checked online, CT does carry them in my city. Go to the website, select your hometown store, and then search "dragonfly". It shows how many are available at your selected store. Might have to pick up a 6wt, hoping its better than my busted amundson 6wt

I bought an 8 wt Dragonfly reel and took it salmon fishing. Hooked into a big coho and couldn't reel it in. The frame would twist with the power of that fish. Swore never to buy cheap stuff again. Zane Saltwater and Islander all the way now.

Not sure if it is the same company but I sure wouldn't buy another reel.

Save a couple more sheckels and get something decent.
