Default Fishing north of slave

Heading up Wednesday to try a couple lakes on sleds. Just wondering what the snow and ice conditions are like north of slave? Has anybody been in this country recently?

Default North of slave

I was up there 8 weeks ago, snow was over a foot deep on the lake, and once we drilled some holes 2 inches of flood water. Ice was only 15inches thick. Sled should be the only way to go. We caught alot of fish, not any real trophies though. We needed chains to drive around the lake, and watched some half ton trucks get real stuck. Hope this helps, are you heading to Utikama, we went northwest of there for a couple of days. Tight lines

Was up at Mink a couple weeks ago, 10" of snow then (had a few more inches since), and Haig lake two days ago...WOW... most snow I've seen on a lake in a long time. Flood water near shore lines so trucks would not make it no matter how high a lift they use. We went in an Argo and it was a piece of cake, even through the flood water. 3 layers of ice though. Drilling was about 36 to 40" but quite managable. Fishing slow but we caught a couple of good meals of walleye and pike.
