Fly Fishing Club in Lethbridge
Would anyone be interested in starting a fly fishing club? I know it would be alot of work but it might be fun expecially in the winter. I think this would be fun and it might be a good way to meet new friends and fishing buddies. Hear are a few things we might be able to do. Learn to build your own flyrod, fly tying instruction, photography, build are own nets, help with projects like T.U and what ever else. I think the best way to do this is to put up some posters and not charge a membership fee. Does anyone have any experience with starting such a club and pros and cons. I know Calgary has the Hook and Hackle club and Medicine Hat has the Cypress Fly Fishing club, so maybe it is time to start one here in Lethbridge. Would this be something that might be of interest from the members here from Lethbridge and surrounding area.
Please give your thoughts.
Thank Clyde

I support groups like TU, AFGA, RMEF etc and will become a member of Oldman river TU this year. These groups do some great work at lobbying government, securing access and promoting and protecting our sport. The concept for a fly fishing group that I and a few others are looking to start is one that promotes the sport of fly fishing in a more social setting. It would be about getting new people to take up the sport, experienced people to share their insight and to have fun while doing it. I love hunting and fishing and find it more rewarding to share it with someone new to the sport over catching the big one.

Next TUC Oldman Chapter meeting is Jan 16. You don't need to be a member to go, open to anyone slightly interested in trout.
I'll be giving a talk on Bull/Brook trout hybridization in the area

Fly Club for Lethhbridge
I am interested in this! My problem is time, next to money, I never seem to have enough of it. Maybe if the group met every 2 weeks or something like that . . .
I will send you a PM with more ideas.
