Black Friday Fishing Gear Sale
Apparently it's coming to Canada, but so far, I've only found CT that has one item on sale...
Swede-Bore Two-piece Ice Auger (5", 6", and 8") - $44.99
Anyone else with good leads?

so ... if I read this correct. Every hour they will announce a new sale ??
That means you show up at 8 and after the last announcment at 11 pm
you can go home after you buy stuff ??
I'm not sure if a retailer really wants all the customers in the store
for 3 + hours waiting for hourly specials.
anyone know a WSS forum member that would share the details of the
sale ?? I know they are sponsors and ...... guess what .... nothing
posted about the friday sale on their forum site.
I would expect that this was an oversight on their part. The Forum
is a captive market and a no brainer for customer support.

the boys in there the other day all had a different story. no one with any solid answers. time of sale only and management couldn't or wouldn't give the sales guys any more detail. this looks like a copy of a sale flyer that may or may not be released. not much fishing related.

I was in the WSS in Lethbridge today and asked what kind of sale they were going to be having and he said that the newest flyer is a better sale then what they are going to have tomorrow. I guess most of the stuff they are putting up for sale is hunting gear with little to no sales on fishing stuff.
So I guess if you are a hunter you may find some decent prices but if you were looking to stock up on fishing stuff you will be paying pretty much retail for it.

Got back a while ago could not see any great deals for what I wanted. Not saying others did not do well just nothing on my list. Fair number of people.

I checked in on it too. Seemed that the majority of the savings dollars were in the hunting end of the store, very little so far as fishing gear. They had a lot of discounted tip ups and other twenty dollar items, but that was about it for terminal gear. A few fifty dollar off on selected clam style shelters, which I bought one of.
The outerwear was 40 points off, and some of those deals were pretty good. I picked up some great gloves, and a pair of sorel boots for my wife.
I also pulled the trigger on a Strike Master auger, the strike lite II.
All in, they got $1300 of my cash, and I saved about $80.
Cheers,
Mike

We braved it in person and survived!!!
Just got back from Phoenix late last night and braved Cabelas yesterday morning. Got there at about 9:30 and we freaked at how many people were in line checking out. We almost left as I am not into waiting and one of the people there convinced us that the line was moving fast. The checkout line where we eventually started was snaked from the front down the main aisle around the back of the store. We actually only had to wait 10-15 mins as they had things real organized and everybody went through the checkouts quickly. Way better than any boxing day sale I have seen around here. There were some good deals but most people only had an item or 2. Wife picked up a few trinckets to bring home and I was eyeing a new bait casting reel and couldn't decide if I should take the plunge but the wife grabbed it to make my decision easy. Got a good deal I think on one of these. This is the only style of reel I don't have a couple in my arsenal until now. Maybe if it warms up I can even try it out one of these days from what I have been reading on the board.

Drove past WSS in Calgary last night. Looked like the parking lot was full, so I didn't bother stopping. Sounds like I didn't miss much lol.
