Default One piece base recommendation

Hello all...

I'm working up a varmit rig over a Savage 223 action and I need advise on which solid scope base to purchase. I understand there is someone here in Alberta that is manufacturing bases that have a very good reputation. Anyone know about this (and contact info) or other good bases?

Thanks

Mike

near makes them, I think he is in Leduc or Nisku.
How far are you going to shoot?
You may be okay with a standard leupold one piece.....

Default one pc bases

Thanks all..

Cat' - I hope to use the rifle to shoot out to 1000 yds - not there yet but am in the 500 yd range - but need to tighten things up. The stock rifle currently shoots 0.25 MOA at 100 yds and I 'm getting pretty consistent groups of three of around 0.6-0.7 MOA at 300 yds. My 2009 season goal is to nail 50 % of my 500 yd shots on gophers... I have a ways to go before I get there...

I've never used one piece bases but I am hoping to stiffen the action and get a slight improvement out of the rifle...

Mike, make sure you tell them that when you order the base.
Paul Reibin in Kamloops also sells an aluminum base,6061 grade IIRC, for the Savages.
