Default Badger & Rolling Hills Reservoir

I know its winter, but i have a question about open water fishing on these lakes. How is the walleye & pike fishing and do they get really weedy? Daughter and I have fishing Kayaks and these lakes would be a great place to fish, just looking for some feedback and nothing more. Thx!

The walleye population in Badger is very low but I have caught a few large (26+") fish there over the years. Very few small walleye and lots more pike. Rolling Hills has more walleye than Badger so you'll catch all sorts of size classes. Some really good sized pike can be caught in both.

Badger has pretty extensive weed beds along the north and western shores that extend out for 50-100 yards but there usually is a distinct break that you can work along the edge. Haven't fished Rolling Hills as much but I haven't noticed crazy weedy areas.

We have spent a lot of time fishing at Badger. If you want to catch pike, there are a lot in there. Have never seen a walleye. If you want to see some open water season catches you catch check these out:
