Default Ready For Cold Lake Trip

Hope this is mostly of what I need for my Cold Lake Trip. First time to ever Ice fish it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated . Also bringing my Humminbird Helix 7 G3N.

All you really need are the tube jigs. They have worked best in my experience.

Some days anything is worth a try. Make sure to take some bait as well. Smelt , minnows , sucker.

We caught 90% of our fish this weekend Gamakatsu treble hook 2 split shot sitting on the bottom

Just tipped with some sucker or smelts? Where do you put your weights for such a light hook?

you should be ok just put a herring filet or sucker belly on for flavour

jigging raps also work well for me at cold lake.

I have one of those mackinaw rods in 45 heavy, very nice for the price.

Thank you everyone. I'm lucky to be on such a great Forum with such amazing people. I appreciate every ones help and input . After watching all Weavster's Videos on Cold Lake my Kids and I are addicted. We had a fun summer at Cold lake catching Lakers. We will be there Jan 25/26 . If any of you are out there at that time , come by and say hi. We can be recognized by these two tents that will be beside each other. Tight Lines
