My 5yr old daughter wants to go fishing sunday from shore. Can anybody help with a place I could take her around the calgary area that she would have fun, and maybe catch a couple, does not have to be anything big as she prefers the smaller fish anyway. Thanks.
Chain lakes is just an hour or so south of Calgary and has excellent shore fishing. Whether you are useing lures or still fishing the bottom with a worm your daughter will have a great time.
In about an hour I'll beon my way to Pine Coullie ( 5-10 minutes west of Stavley) with my sons 3 and 7 to meet my brother and his daughter for the night and fishing tomorrow. You are welcome to join us. should be there till 2-3 in the PM Sunday by the dock.

If you want to go West, there are the Bill Allen and McLean Creek Ponds (Stocked) just West of Bragg Creek in Kananskis Country.
Nice scenery as well.

cochrane has mitford pond. right in town, usually doesn't even get that busy and there's a ton of rainbows in there. worm and bobber works great. i pulled a 4lb rainbow out of there last august, its a fun place to go to for a couple hours of fishing.
also just west of exshaw on the 1A there is grotto pond, its stocked with rainbows as well.
