No, that path is too steep and hard to walk to. This one is way better than that for fishing early season as well.

Competitive with conventional hotel rates - there's plenty of 'condo' style accommodation in Canmore too - One or two bedrooms, more room to spread out, some even offer use of outdoor BBQs.
For a central source of accom - check out
http://www.canmorehotels.com/
I know people who found Blackstone Mtn or Mystic Springs condos very good value - and at prices less than posted on the website. After New Years, prices drop - it's worth a phone call.

Also if the group starts approaching 50, there's a fun facility for rent at Canmore Ranch (walking distance from those properties mentioned above). They have a large log 'donut tent' set-up with a huge fire pit in the centre, surrounded by picnic tables. Propane BBQs and washrooms provided, And you can even add on a horse-drawn sleigh ride for family fun with their matched pair of Norwegian Fjord horses (for more $). This facility is popular for smaller weddings, birthday parties and such.

Runs around $300 facilty rental - $300/50= $6/pp
http://www.canmoreranch.com/

I live in Canmore, if I can help out, let me know.

Tell you what Sundalius, you go and I'll bring the auger and even drill you some holes, heck better yet, I'll pull the sled for you... So I think a very large slurpee and a little bit of help he just might be able to make it..... OHHHHHHHH. I am so in trouble now LOL

Default What are we having.

Was checking out the link that Thumper put up for Canmore facilities.
I was thinking ....what is the description of the trip based on what they offer?
I think we could qualify for a bunch of them.......LOL.

Our scenic, convenient location is perfect for:
  • Family Get Togethers
  • Reunions
  • Staff Parties
  • Team Building
  • Meetings
  • Weddings

I am not sure that kind of wedding is legal in canada is it? What kind of fishing trip is this? If we can keep this trip above the belt I would be into a hotel and this firepit thing they have got going on there for a little pot luck

A potluck is an OK idea except if we have to carry a bunch of extra stuff. Maybe we convince TFG to bring his handy mobile firepit then we can do smokies and hotdogs or something?

Well I like the plan but the bosses sister is getting married the weekend after and their so called stag/stagette is on that night so you know where I will be going. I will be out for the daytime festivities but have to pass on the sleepover even though it sounds like fun. Looking on the website make sure people know for the budget and it is not much but the charge per night is the base charge and then you add on per person. Still sounds like a good deal. I will just come out and catch all the fish and head home after.........:sHa _shakeshout:

Me and Mrs. Kingfisher will go along too. Not sure how I'm going to convince her to come along just yet. She is just happy to get rid of me for the weekend. One way or another even if the Mrs doesn't come along I'll be happy to pay our share of the money as long as I get a bed to sleep in.

My partner in crime Danno and his wife may come, just waiting to hear from her tonight. That will make 6 people, if so all beds will be taken unless Kingfisher wants to double up with some one ( not me, no offence Kingfisher LOL ) so we need confirmation of who is comming. There are other units available at this chalet for those whom want to join us.

WellDanno and wife cant go, work commitments.... So, as it stands, Kingfisher -1 bedroom, me -1 bedroom, Jst1 & Mrs jst1-1 bedroom. That leaves the couch if anyone is intrested.

We're going to come out to fish but not stay the night, don't want the hassle of finding a dog sitter for the night.

It is not looking to good for me to make this trip. It will all depend on how this back injury heals or what needs to be done to fix it. As of right now I can barely walk from the living room to the bathroom so walking across a lake to sit there all day and haul up lakers isn't really going to work.

I would like to join in, I should know more tonight,
I'll ask the wife if she'd like to have marathon $#x or let me go fishing. I know I'll go fishing.
Might bring a bud or two. We wont be staying the night.
Once I confirm I'll let the number of available seats in my truck be known in case anyone wants to carpool.

For all the people staying the night in Canmore, we should all meet at a pub the night before.
