Default What's your favorite AB fish to CATCH?

And why?
I have the day off and really don't wanna clean the ride but I suppose I better, in the meantime, thought I'd start a poll. Because the max poll answers is 10 I had to bunch up the trouties.

For me it's a tuffy question. Comes down to trout, sturg, n larger pike. Yet to fish for Grayling and a couple trout species....someday...hopefully sooner than later

Watching a big trout rise and take the fly is awsome. Then fighting it in the fast current of the Bow is even more awsome. Then, if I'm lucky enough to get it to the net, that is sublime!

For sure, not a flyfisherman yet....but watched a fellow forum member wrangle a nice Bow on the fly, I'll be forever jealous till my time comes. It was a Kodak moment

Burbs can be fun fer sure!

2 votes for mermaid thus far eh, any landed?? I thought I had a sweetie on, but low and behold, it was only a 75+ # sturg....she was female though

Got the laundry half done, haven't touched the truck though...yet.
Keep em coming folk, I wanna see what 500-1000 AB fisherpeople have to say on the subject. By far them trouties lead....I wonder if it's becuz they are the most species available or just by personal preference?
Cheers!

All though Im a die hard Walleye and Pike guy , I love fishing for Sturgeon , and have gotten pretty good at it aswell .

Had to find something else to fish after 300 - 400 walleye days . Ugh Hurry up ice melt and May Long weekend . Nothing beats casting out a top water bait going for Big Pike .

Amen. Was really wondering what ur fav was BBJ. Though we have dif styles, sturg are great fun.
That being said, I'm still looking for that 4'+ pike I lost at shore a couple summers back. I'm sure she's still laughing. I however, am not.
Cheers n GL all!

I love fishing for trout. Mostly rainbow trout. They get huge and they are super fun to target and fight with. I am not a fan of the small stocked ponds. I love hunting them down in rivers and large lakes.

Wholly smokies! I figured trout would lead but not by that much. I realize it's still a new thread...but if this is any indication....
Got laundry done...almost. Interior of truck is almost done too, just need to polish. Outside of truck, why clean it when I plan to ruin it again within the week Wif should be happy...enuff
No votes for Grayling er Goldeye eh....u people got somethin against fish that names start with the letter G, or just not fan of smaller fish. For their size, goldeye are good times, don't taste so great though...
Cheers!

Nothing better then the hunt for walleyes. Having to put together a pattern to get into a mess of them is the best thing to do in the summer.

Trout are superior. But I have to say pike and goldeye form a close second, followed by whitefish and walleye. Hard choice though...

I'll take the merm too. Caught a few strange scales last spring....thinking it was merm scalings. Smelled nice too....not fishy Yet to land one though....yet. When I do I'll letcha know....unless she takes me to some merm heaven where I can see what fish do as they roam around my lures, I'll be merm hunting for awhile I reckon

As expected, pretty close battle between Jacks n Eyes, interesting....
who will prevail....

Trout for me, cutties would be #1. Even when the fishing is slow your scenery is beautiful. If you decide to eat one they are #1 on the plate too.

merm, sturg, n perch seem to be a battle within their own. 3 quite different specimans.
It's shaping up to be walter/pike choice or trouties. Good to see, more sturg for me harhar. JK, no I'm not.

Well, got the laundry done, inner truck is clean, good enuff for me, maybe not the Missy but it's Hackeytime now. Go Canada Go!!! Couver/Habs final lol, ya right....I can dream....that's free right?
