Default Athabasca area lakes

Anyone been out on the lakes in this area? Heading up that way tomorrow just wondering if quad will suffice or if sled is needed? Also any Ice thickness reports? Thinking there may be some overflow...

Default Overflow

Just a heads up to anyone heading NW Athabasca lakes...6-8" of ice(not clear black either) with 4-5" of water on top of it then another inch of ice on the overflow...kinda freaky walking on cracking ice and breaking through the top layer...also fishin was the *****s...one 11" pike in 5 hrs on the ice today...sled or Argo would be needed to travel anywhere on the lakes...also not a lot of fun standing in 4-5" of water fishing...may have to invest in some thermacell heated insoles. Will the lakes freeze up? It has been -20 up there for the better part of the last 3 weeks...

There was good ice on lakes West of LSL 2 weeks ago. We had a chinook come through and some heavy wet snow fall last week so most if not all the lakes have flooded around here.
