Default Athabasca Chain Lake Ice

Can anyone comment on the ice conditions at Chain? Is there lots of snow, or top water? Can a guy get around fairly easily? Thanks in advance

Was up 3 weeks ago, a couple guys drove on...we broke through the overflow layer with the quad in a few places...would not drive a truck on. There was 12-13" three weeks ago, lots of snow has fallen since...sorry the report is not more recent...

Can you sit in a tent and see the fish bitting, we are looking for a place to introduce a couple interested newbies. I havent been there in years and we always fished with bobbers in one hole, your rod in the other. No tent back then. Thanks
