That's a heck of a nice fish!
Bigger than any brown I've managed to wrestle in (hangs head in shame).

Thanks all, as I said before I'm a beginner at the whole flyfishing thing so if any of you seasoned experts gave some tips/advice to a newbie (I'm 17 btw) I would greatly appreciate that👍🏻😃

Nice brown
Best advice I can give for river fishing is learn to pick apart the water. Don't just focus on a run or pool but instead learn to bring your fly within inches of a seam, rock, pocket in the bank, or any location you believe the fish are holding.
Expand your arsenal and don't get stuck on 1 style of fly fishing. Dries, nymphs, and streamers all have times they will out produce the others. This also goes for fly lines.
It is good to learn from other fishermen but keep an open mind and experiment. There is no magic fly or method of fly fishing.
Trout will take very large meals(beyond what many believe) and also very small. Some believe in waters that see a lot of pressure small is the best way to go. In my opinion it is more about throwing them something different from the other fishermen.
Every species is different yes some methods work for multiple species but often you will be better of to focus on the best way to target each species. If I fish the bow it is not just targeting trout in general.
Biggest thing is time on the water paying attention to detail. Pay attention to why you are having success.
Best of luck and hope this helps you

It's enchanted trout, perhaps he ate some sapro fungus and is seizing up, or peaking....dilated pupils are a giveaway to a heavily exhausted/dead fish. Nice catch for a first one.

huh.... the pupils look no different then the pics I have of fish that are into the net in 30seconds.....
Pretty sure mine aren't dead, because I catch the same ones repeatedly, unless they are the brown zombies.....
I guess you never know....
Nice brown, congratts!! Some good advice in this thread, pay attent to those posts!

That is because most fish species have fixed pupils. Most sharks and rays can re shape there iris. You good to go young fella nice catch. Please tell me there is some clean water in the smaller mountain streams
