Are you suggesting that anyone with a wolf hunt picture should post it here as a "gallery" the moose would like to see?

Here is one that a friend with Fish & game club in Rocky shot a couple years back.

Here are two from my "pack reduction program" that I whittled down with 6 shots from my Savage 99 in .300 savage a few years back.

And here is one I got only on my trail cam. He may still be out there.

Default Wolf Hunting in Alberta

Hey everybody!

What are the wolf hunting regulations in Alberta? Is it by special permit / draw or over the counter? Can non-residents and non-resident aliens hunt wolves?

How often do people hunt them? In terms of popularity, is it like coyote hunting in the States?

As everyone can tell I'm clueless.

Thanks!

Bronc

I picked up my wolf rug and finished the last of my european mounts. The rug measured 6' 7" and the skull went a little over 18".

Speaking of a wolf hunt.
I just got conformation from F/W that underage kids in Alberta may hunt Wolves.

Looks like Willy and I are going to have blast next February.

I also like to know that we do have wolves and as many of our native sp. as possible out there.

However we have heaps of wolves out there right now and in order to get game populations back up a little higher in some areas we need to control the population for wolves.

Trapping and hunting of wolves right now is not doing very much to reduce their numbers.

My pack. Something I've really gotten into. Challenging, lot of fun, don't have to go far, bush mostly to myself and you can do it most of the year. Always by myself, so no personal portrait.

A timely thread as deer season winds down. There is a couple of them around that are toying with me. Hopefully I can get a shot at them.
