Next Time you are stuck without a winch!!
You might find this old time flipflop winch to be quite handy. As long as your rope is strong enough there is virtually no limit to the weight you can pull with this, just make the main lever longer as your vehicle weight goes up.

wouldn't trust that rope with a real truck.

I wouldn't tie through a bolt hole for sure, that's a cut rope looking to happen, under tension, too boot.(it'll sound like a gun shot)
That video could be 1/3 it's length if buddy would just do the task instead of flapping his lips.
Still it's worthy of it's content, I'll be sharing with a few folks who seem to get in binds way more than others.

Thanks Dean,
Good advice there. I agree with Dick284 about the hole, but wrapped around a hitch or axle, looks like it would work fine.
Also, notice how his pants are tucked into his boots and sox--tick country for sure. Something we all will need to be doing, especially in S. AB but soon in the north as well.

Have used this method on a quad before. With heavy enough rope and long enough poles no reason it wouldn't work on a truck

If you can locate 100 yards of wire line cable or 1/4 inch that can pull 4000lbs used in diamond drilling,i have about 500 yards left n a spool that will getter and some shackles, good snatch block and ,it would work,i think the rope was just for the demo, when under severe load tie something to the cable or rope so no wipe lash, when your stuck bad I double or triple my cable, plus don't get one of them poles in the mellon cause you well bust your jaw like right now,or worst. If your going to go a few hundred miles out of the way,get decent whinch with a spare battery and 300 yards of heavy duty straps or what ever and if you knock one down you can get close enough to hull him out whole in a cut out, don't gut till your at the truck.I uesd a 16 foot 4 inch pole and went around a tree in circle, but you need a drive and at least 2 guys on that pole, works faster than 2 pole, but if your alone and you take your time this may works,a mazda and f350 loaded down is a big game changer.

My thoughts nice technique for quad, when 4x4 truck is stuck takes 12,000 to 16,000 lbs winch to pull out. Assumes quad winch not working.
