As another member said rake it, added a little top soil, and then Ezseed. Keep it watered and it will grow. The back yard is now mostly grass and getting better every day.

Same thing happened to us - rake or cut out the dead spots, add some top soil and grass seed, and water the crap out of it all. Then teach the dog to go at a specific spot. It works.

Get the pee rocks for your dog at the local pet store. They work.

As mentioned, make a dedicated rock/gravel area and try to get the dog to go there. I re sodded twice, as I had 2 GSP's. The second time a quick Lattice 4x8 fence went up around the grass lol. Still green as green years later. Dogs are long gone but my friends dogs come over and still smell their pee in the rocks/dirt and go there. Keeps the scent markers working on my rock areas

There has been many answers thrown your way but simply ... "The solution to pollution is dilution"
In other words you can water the spots you see your dog urinate or water your grass often. Or try to get your dog drinking more. Adding a small amount of wet food can often get pooch peeing more..
good luck ..
