In 2005 I helped build a clay brick oven on Vancouver Island that was similar to this one. The fellow who ran the workshop was Eckhard Buechel (not sure of the spelling???) from Germany. I'm not sure if he's still building ovens but he traveled a long way to build that one. It was big, we had about 5 people standing on top of it when it was done and it could bake 20 loaves of bread at a time.

Here's the cachelofen. I can keep the house heated down to about -10C with wood, with or without Knotley.
