Default Caroline / Sundre Area

To those AO members who hunt up this way I have a quick question. I was wondering if anyone who hunts up this way has ever encountered any problems with vehicle vandalism or break-ins while hunting up this way?

Thank you for any responses!

I've never had a problem, and every person I've come across in that area has been very friendly. I also leave my car parked on the side of the road when I walk on trails.

I hunt there and quad there all summer as well and have never had an issue. closest thing i had to an issue was a guy who told me he peeked around my truck (work truck) for some wd-40 cause he needed some for his quad for some reason

Never had an issue either and have left both my personal and company truck there for 10+ hours at a time.

Did something happen to you or is this purely speculative?

Never had a problem and I frequently park in that area. I have met some pretty sketchy people in the middle of the night out there though.

Hunt and camp in the area all the time and have even left my trailer parked for a couple weeks and nothing has ever happened. Locked up tight and nothing in plain sight...you should be good.

Crime is a big problem there... there are also no deer or elk so I wouldn't even consider going there ... seriously... never had a problem

Doesn't mean you can be careless though. The usual rules apply. It only takes one of the many less than honest .

I almost got stranded out by Strachan last year. We had almost 20'' of snow fall on Saturday night. We got up Sunday and started packing. Both me and my buddy got stuck trying to pull out my cargo trailer. 2 guys stopped to help us out and then we loaded as much gear as we could into ours trucks and left the trailer thinking it would be good for a couple of days. I was wrong. The lock was cut off but to my amazement nothing was missing.
